01 Invite the customer
One email address per person who should see the account.
- Go to Credit → Accounts and open the customer by choosing their name.
- Scroll to Customer portal at the bottom of the page.It is there once the account has been saved, not while you are opening a new one.
- Under Invite by email, type the customer's email address and choose Send invite.OCTYN emails them a link that lasts 14 days. The invitation is tied to exactly this address.
- To send the link yourself instead, choose Just make a link, then Copy link or Share on WhatsApp.The same two buttons appear after Send invite, in case the email does not arrive.
02 What the customer does
No business set-up — only a login.
- They open the link, type the invited address under Your email, and choose Email me a link to continue. That second link lasts 15 minutes and must be opened on the same phone or computer.
- They choose a password and then Set password & open my account.Someone who already has an OCTYN password chooses I already have a password — sign in instead.
03 What the customer sees
Three tabs, all read-only.
- Overview shows what they owe, their credit limit, what is left to draw, how old the dues are, and the last 30 days of fills.
- Slips lists every fuel slip with vehicle, driver, litres, rate and amount. They can search, pick dates or one vehicle, and export to CSV, Excel or PDF.Cancelled slips are not listed.
- Statement shows the running balance for a period; Download PDF gives the statement as a PDF.Nothing can be changed or paid from the portal. To dispute a slip or pay, they contact you.
04 Withdraw an invite or remove access
Back under **Customer portal** on the customer's account.
- An invitation not yet accepted shows Invited. Choose Link to copy it again, or Withdraw to cancel it.Withdraw acts at once, without asking.
- A person who has accepted shows Has access. Choose Remove, then Remove access. They no longer see the account online. You can invite them again later.
Done. The customer checks their own slips and statement, and you take fewer calls asking for them. Open it in OCTYN.
